RAL1011 Brown beige zinc rich epoxy primer for corrosion protection
Various types of zinc-rich coatings are available for corrosion protection.
The challenges associated with the proper specification and application of zinc-rich coatings are briefly discussed.
Zinc-rich coatings are used by many industries for the corrosion protection of steel substrates.
Uses include highway and infrastructure, industrial and automotive applications. These coating materials have demonstrated improved atmospheric corrosion performance when compared to carbon steels protected only by spray applied organic coatings (such as an epoxy-urethane coating system).
ADVANTAGES
Steel surfaces should be abrasive blasted to a commercial gray metal finish as specified by the Steel Structures Painting Council SSPC SP-6.
